NCAA D-I Roundtable, Part I; Division III Draws, Seeds Announced; Notre Dame Gets Men's Coaching Endowment; D-I Regional Awards; Midwest College Showcase

I've been participating in the Tennis Recruiting Network's NCAA Division I Team Championships Roundtable from the start, and this year is no exception, even though I will not be covering it in person this year.  Part I, covering what impressed us at the end of the season, and what regional we would like to attend, is here.  On Friday, the panel will reveal what visiting teams they think may prevent regional hosts from advancing and who their champions and dark horses are.

The Division III draws were announced today, with the first, second and third rounds this weekend at various sites around the country. Unlike Division I, not all seeded teams host the early rounds, and there are byes, with 43 men's teams and 49 women's teams getting into the tournament, the bulk of them via conference championships. This year's final site, which will host eight men's and eight women's teams, is Kalamazoo College. Quarterfinal matches in the team championships begin on Monday, May 23rd. The complete women's draw is here. The complete men's draw is here. The various NCAA Division III manuals can be found here.

3. Pomona-Pitzer

The Division III Tennis blog has much more information on the tournament here.

Notre Dame today announced a three million dollar gift from John and Kim Callaghan to endow the men's head coaching position at the University.  For more about the Callaghans generosity and connection to Notre Dame, see this article.

The ITA Division I regional awards were announced today, with the national awards, which usually, but not always, come from these winners, set to be announced on Tuesday, May 24th in Tulsa. The complete list can be found at the ITA website.

College showcases, vital to navigating the ins and outs of the college recruiting process, are held in many sections during the summer, and I've been asked to link to the information for the one in my section, the Midwest, on June 24th in Indianapolis, Indiana.  For more information on the event, click here.
